Account Manager

If you're looking for an excellent sales opportunity, this is the job for you. In every issue readers will find comprehensive entertainment and dining options, home and fashion features, interviews, profiles of interesting people, travel information and so much more. Wichita magazine is a high quality, upscale magazine catering to an affluent audience of discriminating consumers. It is a subscription and newsstand purchased magazine.

This full-time sales position is a revenue-generating role responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships and contracts, servicing advertising needs, developing new business and renewing contracts for accounts that are due to expire. Position requires regular interface with clients, setting appointments, conducting presentations and identifying needs, and selling prospects into the magazine. Other responsibilities include helping clients develop ad content, working with the production designer to create ads, proofing and getting client approvals and collecting product for production photography if necessary.

This position utilizes a consultative sales approach and reports to the Associate Publisher. Compensation package includes expense reimbursement. Benefits include available health care coverage and retirement account options.

The ideal candidate is highly self motivated, well organized, articulate, able to conduct sales meetings in a professional manner and work in a small team environment. Account Manager is responsible for meeting individual sales goals as part of overall company revenue goals, helping as necessary in producing the monthly magazine and other duties as required. Editorial Interns
Wichita magazine editorial internships are sought-after, educational experiences reserved only for students and recent graduates who are creative, effective journalists truly interested in learning the magazine industry. They are unpaid, but may be taken for course credit arranged with the intern's home university. Editorial interns are responsible for fact-checking, calendars, People Pics and some reporting and writing. Reporting experience is a must. Photography skills are a plus. Art Interns

Wichita magazine, the regional lifestyle magazine for Wichita and the surrounding area, is seeking art interns for the summer 2007 semester. These positions are reserved only for students who are creative, motivated and truly interested in learning more about the magazine industry. Art interns assist the art director in design and layout of the magazine by scheduling photo shoots, attending photo shoots, collecting art, as well as taking People Pics and other photography assignments for short articles. Experience designing for print—whether gained from a previous internship or college publication — is a plus.
